Shirley Ann Benoy, 57, who was doing business as Golden Charm Tours and Shirley Benoy Tours, allegedly stole money from more than 30 customers, many of whom were senior citizens, according to the complaint filed in Merced Superior Court. A former Merced tour guide charged with stealing thousands of dollars from customers continues to repay victims but has not been convicted of any crime, the Merced County District Attorney's Office confirmed Thursday. A man and woman from Fresno will stand trial for allegedly coercing a 17-year-old runaway into prostitution, a Merced judge ruled earlier this week. Samuel L. Packard, 32, and Ashley M. Gonzalez, 21, have pleaded not guilty to persuading a minor to act as a prostitute, a felony. Comment?
