Lock Haven Law

I was charged 17 yrs ago with a DUI. I was moving to Fl. in 3 days, with my young children. At that time, I was running away from a abusive man. I was granted permission to leave the state as long as I followed up in the state of Fl. I did not follow up, and have been recently picked up by the Md. Sheriff office ( I moved back to Md. after 5 yrs in Fl.)and was incarcerated for 36. The judge allowed me to pay a cash bond, and I have 7 days to turn myself in to Pa. I am ready to this and am wondering what might happen to me. I have a clean record, and have turned my life around. Please help me so that i will not go in there blind.
You first have to answer the original charge of DUI, that will not have gone away simply because you fled the state....
I work for lewis tree company, we do tree work for the power company's. I just found out we might be going to Canada to do storm work. can I go? I really don't want to miss out on work.
Is there anything in your sentence/parole that keeps you from going? Like following up with a parole officer in person?...
I was walking with a friend down the street where apparently a party was to be busted. We did not attend the party and were walking away from the house when three officers came from behind a car and ran at us without announcing who they were. I put my hands up to defend my face as I thought I was getting jumped and was then tackled and cuffed by two officers. I was told I was very close to getting tazed. My friend pushed the cop away from him but wasn't cuffed. We were not aware of the cops getting out of their car or them running after us until they were right behind us. I was questioned and admitted to drinking as I laid cuffed. Their reasoning for apprehending me was for resisting arrest when I had no idea there were officers in the area. We did not run from the police either.
Your facts suggest a violation of Miranda if the police had you cuffed and asked you questions while you were cuffed...
I recently received a DUI and according the rules forced to tell my work place. At the time of incident the cop told me that if i didnt get papers in a month to email him and remind him because he was busy, my work has put me on leave until they receive a citation or report so they can conduct their investigation. Something tells me I shouldnt go poking around forcing police to write this and proceed but my work is demanding paperwork. what should i do?
Sounds like there has been no cased filed on you yet, so there's no paperwork to demand. Contact a local DUI lawyer...
After a DUI and possible incarcenation, are there programs out there to help people get back on there feet again? Not having the ability to drive?
I would talk with your attorney who should be able to give some direction to you. Every case is different but...
I was arrested a few weeks ago for suspicion of DUI. My lawyer is getting me into the ARD program, which he told me will not result in a DUI conviction on my criminal record (correct me if I am wrong). I was just given a job offer as a physical therapist assistant for a skilled nursing facility. Employment is pending upon a drug test and background check. I have no priors on my record whatsoever. I just tried to access my criminal background check and it is pending. If I haven't been convicted of a DUI, and likely should not, is this going to affect my opportunity for employment? Is it possible that my background check will come up as "no record" since I technically have not been convicted?
ARD is a program offered to carefully screened Defendants. It is important for you to retain a criminal defense...
ARD entry program and hearing is in another part of the state. There is no option in terms of a driver or public transportation. Given that, if you still have a lisence, Could you drive and ask permission to surrender the lisence when you get home?
You can ask but the judge may not allow it. Most counties require you to turn in your license at the ARD hearing. You...
