My husband received a sentence of level 5 dui conviction in NC in 06 and his suspension time was up in 2010 but just now paid the court fines and fees and taking classes. My question is he asked NC DMV about 6 months ago what steps he needed to take the lady stated you just need to do what the court ordered and then suspension will be lifted. Now he calls NC DMV and another lady tells him his suspension doesn't start until after fees are paid!? What? He hasn't had his driving privilege for 6 years?
