Opening statements are to begin Wednesday in the trial of a North Carolina man accused of handcuffing an 11-year-old boy by his ankle to a porch with a dead chicken around his neck as punishment. Dorian Harper is charged with felony child abuse, false imprisonment and maiming. Comment?

Some Henderson County residents say the access road to their neighborhood is so muddy after the winter snows and melting that they worry emergency vehicles could not reach them. The Times-News of Hendersonville reported that residents of High Peak Lake Estates in Etowah are concerned about the mile-long private road. Comment?

Hendersonville police are trying to track down a man who was charged with several felonies and traffic offenses after leading officers on a chase and then attempting to drive into the vehicles that were chasing him Tuesday night. Captain Bruce Simonds said an officer was on routine patrol around 11:12 p.m. when he notices 30 to 40 people crowded around a red Chevy truck on Robinson Terrace and Woodcock Drive. Comment?

A man wanted in connection to a revenge shooting following an assault with a baseball bat was located and arrested in Easley Monday night, according to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office. After a man was hit in the face with a baseball bat during a fight on Friday, Dustin Earl Jones, 32, who is related to the victim, went to the home on Dana Road in Hendersonville where the assault took place and shot the attacker three times, according to the Sheriff's Office. Comment?
