Two burglars tried to break into a Grove City residence last week while the owner was home, Grove City police reported. At 1:18 p.m. Oct. 16, a resident of the 4500 block of Kay Court called 911 because two men who parked a green SUV in his driveway were walking around his house, and he believed they were trying to break in. Responding to reports of a man entering parked cars, Grove City police stopped a vehicle attempting to leave the parking lot of a business in the 2300 block of Southwest Boulevard at 8:05 p.m. Oct. 4. Police report the Grove City man, 33, told officers he was checking Dumpsters for scrap at the business. Police handcuffed him and as they walked him to a patrol car, he reportedly pulled a screwdriver from his back pocket and tried to drop it into a sewer drain, reports said. Comment?

A suspected shoplifter became a suspected robber by getting into a physical struggle with a local store's loss-prevention officer, Grove City police reported. The loss-prevention officer at Drug-Mart, 2290 Stringtown Road , attempted to stop a woman he told police he saw place merchandise in her coat and leave the store at 5:27 p.m. Sept. Comment?

Police in Grove City have made an arrest in one robbery and are seeking a suspect in a second holdup. Officers arrested 35-year-old Keath Alan Sherbondy of Butler, Pa., shortly after a man wielding a large knife robbed the Kwik Fill service station on West Main Street Extension Monday night. Comment?
