A one-time acting director of cybersecurity at the Department of Health and Human Services who once admitted that he was interested in the rape and murder of children will spend at least the next quarter-century behind bars after being convicted on child pornography charges. According to The Washington Post , Timothy DeFoggi, 56, of Germantown, Maryland, was convicted in August for participating in a child exploitation endeavor, as well as conspiracy to distribute child pornography and accessing a computer with the intent of viewing child pornography, said a press release from the Justice Department. BRIDGEWATER - Authorities have released mugshots of the three out-of-state residents who are accused of stealing merchandise from a Victoria's Secret Friday night , including one woman who police say pepper-sprayed two security guards in an attempt to escape arrest. Authorities arrested Quatavia Ashburn, 23, and 55-year-old Kevin Garner, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., along with Crystal Morrison, 34, of Germantown, Md., in connection with the incident. Comment?

A man barricaded himself in a Gaithersburg house, then reportedly tried to provoke police into shooting him during a standoff that ended peacefully Sunday night. The incident began when a Germantown woman called 911 about 7:15 p.m. Dec. 21 to report that her husband, Jeffrey Allan Flaherty, had threatened to kill her and her family members. Comment?
