Sheriff's Dept. fires corrections officer

Doak Shoemaker, a corrections officer in the Cocke County Jail, was fired by Cocke County Sheriff Armando Fontes on Wednesday, May 2, because of his arrest in Gatlinburg for public intoxication last month, the Cocke County Sheriff's Department reported.
