My husband received a sentence of level 5 dui conviction in NC in 06 and his suspension time was up in 2010 but just now paid the court fines and fees and taking classes. My question is he asked NC DMV about 6 months ago what steps he needed to take the lady stated you just need to do what the court ordered and then suspension will be lifted. Now he calls NC DMV and another lady tells him his suspension doesn't start until after fees are paid!? What? He hasn't had his driving privilege for 6 years? That seems a little harsh so which lady was correct ? Does this mean my husband has to wait another 4 years?

Was pulled for speeding (says the officer) but had witnesses in car to confirm i was not however was not given any kind of speeding ticket. When pulled he made me get out and do breathalizer immediatly. Then field test then another breathalizer then put cuffs on me and put me in the back of his car. When at the station was given two more breath tests .09 was reading. Officer gave me the ticket and they released me to my wife. I wasnt asked to sign my ticket and i was never read my rights.
