Almost six months after he was arrested on DUI/DWI charges and held at gunpoint by Somerset County sheriff's deputies, Fruitland Police Chief Michael Phillips was cleared of the more serious charges associated with the June 29 traffic stop. Phillips, 48, of Salisbury, was found not guilty on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired, but was sentenced to 90 days of unsupervised probation for following too closely. Comment?
