I live in MD and my friend received a DUI and he is 18 years old. He was driving with two minors in the vehicle with him. I was just wondering what are the possible outcomes for him. He is a first time offender and his BAC was .16%. He had his licence suspended for 45 days. What are some things he should do? He already has a lawyer.

The only reason I was unable to get pbj at the trial was due to a Federal DUI conviction (US Park Police - I-295) on my record from 2007 which carried 0 points and was not sent to MVA. The judge said she would reconsider granting pbj based upon completion of 6 months of supervised probation, and 26 weeks of drug/alcohol classes. Now MD MVA is trying to suspend my license for another 180 days (currently half way through initial 180 day suspension) based upon the 8 points connected to the conviction, however if pbj granted 0 points on my license. All legal parties seemed very confused by Federal DUI and I fall in some legal grey area for probation before judgment. I am unable to join interlock program since I no longer own or have access to a vehicle. What can I expect at MVA hearing?

First time offender, officer pulled me over after I tried to slip through a yellow light. Performed poorly on the field sobriety test, arrested and taken to the station where I blew a .20. My general understanding is that I should be able to retain my driving privileges, and hope for probation before judgement, if I enroll in an alcohol treatment program and have an interlock device installed for 1 year. In 2005 I was convicted of a DUI. The arresting officer made a mistake in the paperwork and my name got incorrectly inputted in the MVA system. Since then I've been charged 2 more times with DUI with no conviction. Since the 05' incident I have gotten 3 licenses issued to me. I live in California now. While adding an M1 classification to my license I was told MD had a hold on my record. I contacted the MVA and was told that I have to complete a 26 week alcohol program for Maryland to lift the revocation. Reason given was because I had been charged with DUI 3 times. This doesn't make sense to me as I have only been convicted once. Can the MVA case worker just say that I have to take this 26 week course? I haven't been able to locate any law that says this online. Any help is appreciated!

From Lancaster to Md during rush hour. En route to see PO of 3 years with 2 months left. Unsupervised also. Had papers to go over. I had a rental and had been driving for 90 min. About 5 miles to go and had a minor accident. I took responsibility for it. No one was hurt. An officer came to swap info and move things along. Said byes and the 3 of us went on our way. The first officer started off & just before he left another officer came behind me, & waved the other driver away . Cop #2 first accuses me of driving without consent. He was confirmed wrong.
