The motorist whose drunken 2013 collision on a residential Daly City street while fleeing an earlier hit-and-run killed a family of three and severely injured a fourth is guilty of second-degree murder, according to a jury that also convicted him on several other felonies. Jurors returned the verdicts against Denis Pereria Demacedo mid-afternoon Monday, the third day of deliberation, which include guilt on three counts of second-degree murder and several other felonies related to driving while intoxicated and hit-and-run. Prosecutors will seek to revoke bail Thursday morning for a Hells Angels member accused of conspiring with sheriff's employees to smuggle cellphones and drugs into a Redwood City jail, according to San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe. Dionicio Lopez Jr., 26, was out on $1 million bail and awaiting trial for allegedly shooting at a Daly City home in 2011 when he was re-arrested for the alleged conspiracy and his bail was increased to $2 million. Prosecutors will seek to revoke bail this morning for a Hells Angels member accused of conspiring with sheriff's employees to smuggle Dionicio Lopez Jr., 26, was out on $1 million bail and awaiting trial for allegedly shooting at a Daly City home in 2011 when he was re-arrested for the alleged conspiracy and his bail was increased to $2 million. He remains in custody, but prosecutors now hope to have bail revoked altogether. Comment?

A 21-year-old San Jose man was arrested in Daly City on Monday on suspicion of stealing from gym lockers on the Peninsula and may be linked to similar crimes in the South Bay, police said today. An officer working in the area of the Serramonte Center saw a suspicious car near the Macy's department store entrance shortly after 8 p.m. Monday, according to Daly City police. Comment?

A Daly City man was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday for robbing a Redwood City bank in March- two days after he was released from jail for setting a car on fire outside the Daly City DMV, San Mateo County prosecutors said. Hugo Carranza, 66, pleaded no contest in August to robbery charges on the first day of jury selection in his trial, prosecutors said. Comment?

A 67-year-old man previously convicted of torching a car at the Daly City Department of Motor Vehicles was sentenced to four years prison for stealing $5,000 from a Redwood City bank two days after his release in the earlier arson case. Hugo Carranza faced up to four years after pleading no contest in August to robbery and admitting his prior strike. Comment?
