My 18-year-old daughter was hit by a drunk driver with 3 prior DWI's, 1 arrest was 8 days before her accident.
Witnesses say that he was traveling 80mph in a 40. He totaled 3 cars (4 including his), but her car was the worst as it flipped upon impact and hit a tree. No one was seriously injured, but ambulances did take them to the hospital for evaluation. He has been arrested 3 times prior, and once for a DUI 8 days before the accident. He attempted to run away, but bystanders chased him down and held him down for the police. We live in TN and the accident occurred at 7pm. I'm going to assume he doesn't have any insurance. He's bankrupted. My daughter is suppose to leave for college in a few weeks, but is afraid she may have to postpone her move and miss the first semester. Should I hire legal support? Is there anything else I can do besides contacting my insurance and collecting their check?
I would suggest contacting a personal injury attorney in your area for assistance. They may be able to discuss more...

My son was arrested for DUI (in Knox County) but claims that while he was passed out drunk in the backseat someone else was driving his car. Why was he arrested also? He is also on probation and his probation officer is going to report to the court that he broke the rules of his probation.

My licenses has been suspended since 2003 in IN for DWI 4th offense . Live in Tn now. How will my car insurance be affected. . .
I am able to reapply for my drivers license 1/14. Indiana has blocked me being able to get one in tn until my suspension is up. Will it just automatically be unblocked or do I have to still do something in Indiana. Having had 4 dwi last one in 2003 how will that affect my insurance since it was more then 10 yrs ago and driving record is obviously "perfect" during that time. Do I have to disclose those dwi to dmv or insurance company since it has been that long. Sober 13 yrs
You will need to contact IN to ser what you need to do to clear the suspension, then apply for TN license once cleared....
Will I need to tell insurance co. or license branch in tn that I got 4 dwi in Indiana; last 1 in 2003. Suspension up 1/2014.
I moved to tn 6 yrs ago from Indiana. I know I need to take the driving and written test to pet a tn drivers license. I am just wondering if I need to disclose the 4 dwi; especially when I apply for insurance. My boyfriend currently has a car he is going to let me have once I get it back. Would it be better if I just go UNDER his insurance as a 2nd driver and he keep everything in his name or get my own insurance
You'll have to call some insurance companies to get quotes. Good luck. Jasen Nielsen
My first ever run in with the law in 2007 I was arrested on the side of the road and failed the sobriety test, I blew a .5. I went to court it was reduced to wreckless driving. Like an Idiot I never took the asap classes but paid all fees ordered by the court. Like an Idiot I ignored the problem, I very very rarely drink or do anything dumb in life. So since 2007 I have run from this problem, I moved to TN, now married and 2 kids, I really want this monkey off my back. I have a warrant out for my arrest for comtempt of court, trial by Jury, simply it scares me, but Im ready to deal with this. Where do I start, I live in East TN, and the case is in Northern, VA. Im ready to move forward, Thank you, greatly, for your assistance!
