  It is a local animal cruelty case that caught the attention of not just Van Zandt County, but people across the country through an outcry of e-mails. A Canton man was arrested March 19 after, according to Canton Police reports, a bulldog at his house was found tethered around the neck and had been choked and struck in the head causing its death.
