An Upstate New York man is facing several felony charges after responding to being accused of petty theft at a coffee shop. The Democrat & Chronicle reports Gordon W. Ellis was arrested after he reacted to accusations he stole two doughnuts at a Dunkin Donuts in Canandaigua, N.Y. Canandaigua Police said the 67-year-old Naples man was confronted by a Dunkin employee about possibly taking the sweet treats around 5:30 a.m. Monday and asked to leave the store. Comment?

A Canandaigua man is facing charges after allegedly stealing donuts. Gordon Ellis, 67, of Naples is charged with burglary in the third degree, petit larceny, criminal mischief in the third degree and assault in the second degree. Comment?

The Canandaigua man arrested for having sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl in East Bloomfield approximately three and a half years ago will avoid prison time. On Wednesday, in Ontario County Court, Robert Parsons Jr., 28, pleaded guilty to third-degree rape, a class D felony; third-degree criminal sexual act, a class E felony; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor, in exchange for a sentence promise that includes a cap of 10 years of probation. Comment?
