  • Happy Rockefeller

Wednesday May 20 | via The Washington Post

Margaretta "Happy" Rockefeller, the widow of former vice president and New York governor Nelson Rockefeller whose marriage to him triggered a public outrage that hampered his bid for the presidency during the 1960s, died May 19 at her home in Tarrytown, N.Y. She was 88. Tall, winsome and almost 18 years her husband's junior, Happy Rockefeller wrestled with her image as the woman who had caused the breakup of two families when she tied the knot in 1963 with the grandson of the Standard Oil founder. A longtime friend and confidante to one of America's wealthiest families, she enraged middle-class society by giving up custody of her four children to secure a divorce before marrying the man who became the 41st vice president.

2nd Citation for underage drinking in 6 months.
It was at a concert and it was liquor enforcement. They asked me what I drank and I said vodka. I had neither my license nor alcohol on me and on the citation I received it said I was over 18 with possession. Can i get out of this because they got my information wrong and I did not actually have anything on me? Thanks a lot I appreciate the feedback.
Your admission that you drank vodka does not help, but without evidence of actual possession, there are some weaknesses...
Hi, I am wondering how to proceed on a public drunkennes citation in PA. What should I plead?
The citation is just for public drunkennes and it says the defendant was manifestly under the the influence of alcohol in a public place. Is there a real possiblity to be sent to prison for this? (I have read you could get imprisoned for up to 90 days). Also, is there a way to ask for something like community service to solve this issue? thanks
Although PA has adopted unified practice rules, consequences and potential resolutions vary widely from county to...
2nd Dui PA - is Plea Bargaining Possible
I completed ARD from a 2010 dui. I received another dui last week. Can a dui be plea bargained to a lesser charge in PA. Also, is there anything, besides finding a lawyer I should be doing now?
I would recommend talking to an experienced DUI defense lawyer in your area that can review the facts of your case and...
Dui conviction vs Dui (Ard Disposition)
I have a dui controlled substance charge. I likely qualify for ard because I have no prior misdeameanor or felony convictions. While on ard, I have to wait a year to get it expunged from my record. I have a bachelor's degree and I am driving myself crazy thinking how this charge mat affect me finding a decent job for the time being. I know ultimately every employer is different but I feel it would be more acceptable if it was a simple alcohol dui but no legit company wants a druggie even if it's not a conviction but a ard disposition. Am I thinking too much into this a shot just apply for jobs because at the end of the day it's not a conviction (and never will be) and jobs only care about convictions? Or is this something I should genuinely be concern ed about? Or is this
Employers care more about JUST a conviction, they care about a course of conduct. Thus, even it's imperative you do...
Will the new bill 1239 passed October,2014 affect my DUI case as I was arrested January, 2014?
I was looking for some help from a attorney possibly currently or previously dealing with this. I was arrested January,2014 and took a plea deal to be charged as a 1st offense because I had a prior but then everyone pretended to know nothing about my priors and I was sentenced as a second offense third tier so my public defender screwed me. I had to hire an appellate attorney and this case has been going on for some time as I try to get my original deal or at least a fair chance at trial. This technically would be my third as my first being 2008 in New Jersey I received two in 2014 the last before I was convicted of the first so I believe Commonwealth vs Haag would have applied but now new law was passed recently so my question is if I do get the plea negated would I face harsher charges?
This is an excellent question to pose to your appellate attorney. While represented by an attorney, he or she must be...
First offence DUI, what are the penalties?
My boyfriend got pulled over for running a stop sign. Turns out he had been drinking and got a dui charge. It is his first offence with no previous records. They brethalized him in the field and in the station. I do not know the number. There was no accident or property damage and he was less than a block away from the our house. They did not do a blood test to find the actual BAC like they should have. Can the case be thrown out? If not can a deal be made to reduce the fines and suspension?
He should enter a not guilty plea and request a court appointed attorney or hire private counsel. There are usually...
Is 2nd dui considered a traffic violation?
i recently got a notice to report for jury duty in philadelphia.in the questionare it asks have i ever plead guilty to a crime other than traffic violation. it was a misdemeanor and i did do jail time and probation for it.the 2nd dui occured in april 2012.what im concerned about is if this is a scam to have me report to the courthouse cause i still owe some money on old fines.
The questionaire for Philadelphia Jury duty does ask if you have been convicted of a crime. And yes, a second offense...
