FALMOUTH - In a brisk hearing Monday, the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office and defense attorney J. Drew Segadelli agreed to continue the murder case against 31-year-old Coast Guardsman Adrian Loya to May 14. As part of the proceedings in Falmouth District Court, prosecutors provided Segadelli with information related to the investigation of the Feb. 5 shootings, in which police say Loya fired at a Coast Guard couple - killing Petty Officer Lisa Trubnikova and injuring her spouse, Petty Officer Anna Trubnikova - in their Buzzards Bay home before shooting Bourne Officer Jared MacDonald in the back during an ambush on responding police.
