I was caught for DUI. BAC .24. If I had a previous conviction in GA in 98, will this influence the outcome of my case now 11years later? Also does the DMV background check go back that far, incase I need an hardship/work liscense.
Because your conviction in GA was more than 10 years ago, it should not count as a prior convicition in CT in the event...
My first DUI arrest was in January of this year . and the second arrest was in August the same year. My questions are
For the first DUI i could not afford a lawyer so the court told me to attend alcohol education classes, community service and attend a MADD meeting .After my second arrest I hired an attorney . He told me that the prosecutor is gonna try to make me a second offender and my attorney will try to getting it down to make me a first offender . Which i guess means pleading guilty as a first offender. So what is a first offender? Is it same as being convicted for a misdemeanor . Is a first offender same as a convict ? Can a first offender have their record cleaned up . Can a first offender get a job ? So basically what is a first offender and what penalties may they have to face ?
Either your lawyer does not do criminal law or he is trying to make himself into a hero. You cannot be a second...
What happens to some one who becomes a first offender? This is in regards to two DUI arrests with in a year.
I did all the work the court to told me do for the 1st DUI. Then I got my second DUI . According to my attorney I will eventually have to become a 1st offender. So what technically is a first offender? What penalties does a first offender face? Will I be put on probation? Can a first offender get a job? Is a first offender same as a felon and/or convict? Can a first offender be pardoned after a certain about of time? There was no accident in either of the arrests and I would also bring to your attention that during my second arrest Miranda rights were not read to me, Will this help in court? My BAC was 0.11. Can this be changed to reckless driving? & is an IDD device an option. Does one have to qualify for it , I desperately need it for Job Interviews & might move if i get out of CT.
Assuming you already used the program (which avoids a conviction), you are facing a first-time conviction. DUI is a...
I have felony charges in Florida and somehow with great lawyers and god on my side, I got off with a few years probation. I was able to transfer my probation to CT, but unfortunately violated my probation with a DUI charge. This was my first and only probation, and quite unfortunate Violation. I'm a full time student, young and have a part time job, and and a fiancé. I just want some legal advice and the reality of this situation.
