I was charged with my 1st and last DWI after a death of a family member in 1996 I had returned to get my associate's degree but had not been useful since I have a class B misdeamor - which creates a road block ( I had a mutal combat assault expunged prior to my DWI arrest) And I have to carry the sheet from the county and DPS showing it's not a felony ) this occurred in 1996)
This surprises me because I have doctors, lawyers, and CEOs whose jobs remain unaffected by misdemeanor DWI convictions....
I got my car stuck in a ditch and I had to ditch my car because I had a few drinks before the happening. It was towed to a storage and towing facility.
It is possible that you may face charges of leaving the scene of an accident, if you admit to driving, but that is...
Got a DWI July 2012 and was found guilty in May 2013. The state I received the DWI in was NJ. Will be moving to Texas in 2016. Since NJ only reports the DWI as an infraction on your license (it is not a misdemeanor or a felony), how will this transfer to Texas that reports it as a misdemeanor? Will I receive a "NEW" misdemeanor? It would be best if a lawyer who is from NJ/TX or has experience with either state's DMV answer this question.
As long as your license is clear you should have no problem getting a Texas license. A criminal background check will...
giving for the simple fact that it comprises my family's security. I can understand why they need my pay stubs for employment verification purposes but why my bank acct. info? I have already paid ALL court fees and costs in my first month of probation and don't understand why Harris county and the DPS is being so adamant about knowing what my financial status is. I have no child support, no fines/fees outstanding from any entity including IRS and no debts of any kind!.. I have not applied for any type of assistance/aid in my life and never will (God Willing). I cannot wrap my head around why this county and those affiliated with them are so heel bent on getting my bank acct. info. Is this even legal? I REFUSE to give these entry level "thugs" my bank accts for their own leisure. Pls advise
Read your conditions of probation. If you are complying you do not have anything to worry about, If you d o not...
Arrested for PI in November 2014, had a court date in December 14, but as I am not a US citizen (I work abroad and visit my brother 4-6 times a year), I got the date moved so that I could come and sort it out. I was going to plead no contest but after reading about it, it is much the same as guilty. I was approximately 200 yards from where I was staying and was arrested. The problem for me if I have a conviction it affects me when I go through immigration (I am a UK citizen). I have been coming to the US since 1997 and I don't want this minor incident to affect me seeing my brother and his family and with the job I have I may, in the future be relocated here. My court date is in 1 week, do I have an chance of getting it dismissed.
If you believe this case could have immigration consequences for you, then you most certainly need to hire a criminal...
I asked for my blood to be drawn, which came back negative for everything. The possession charge is for synthetic, I understand that certain chemicals have been made illegal but I feel that the strand I had on me wasn't one of them. With trial so close is there any way for me to ask that the evidence(synthetic) be tested by a chemist?
In order for the State to prove that you're guilty of possessing synthetic marijuana, they would HAVE to have a chemist...
i got a .01 DUI minor. 20 hrs community service, and an alcohol class. it said on the paper i got from court to register atleast 10 days prior to my court date. didnt think anything of it and figured classes are always going on, so i waited till the last 10 days to do it and found out that the only classes i can take are about a week past my court date. what are my options here?
I would either hire an attorney to talk to the Court and see about an extension of time or talk to the court yourself....
