My son was involved in an alcohol related car accident this past Sunday. I need to know what comes next....
He was the only one involved. No injury or damage to anyone or thing other than himself and his vehicle. He is 16 years old and alcohol level was .283 which I know is extremely high. He has never ever been involved in any bad behavior, he is a great student and athlete. I need to know what my options are to protect his future as I know this is a very serious offence. We live in the state of Washington which is where the accidient happened but he also lives part time with his father in Oregon which is where he and the vehicle were liseanced. Please help....
It is important to contact an attorney immediately to discuss your case. Without the facts of the case it is hard to...
I got a Minor DUI about a month ago, and I'm trying to get it reduced to an MIP and also get a diversion. This is the first time I have ever gotten in trouble with the law. The prosecuting attorney offered to reduce it to negligent driving, and 5 days work crew with some fines. The thing is, negligent driving stays on my record and I'm only 17 so I can't do work crew, so I would have to go to jail for at least one day, which I'm trying to avoid. I cannot afford a lawyer but I don't qualify for a court appointed one. I did have a consult with a lawyer though, but I still have some questions. Since I am trying to plea the charges down myself, how would I go about trying to do this? More specifically, what kind of things could I present to the prosecuting attorney or the judge, to prove that I'm a good kid and that I'm not going to do this again, that could help me plea it down?
If there are no proof problems in the case, a Neg2 is not a bad deal. You can do a DUI victim's panel and/or do a CD...
I was pulled over for drunk driving the other night and I blew a .088. The cop wrote on my ticket thing that the charge was for minor operating a vehicle after alcohol consumption. When he asked if i had been drinking I was honest and told him yes. I was really respectful to the cop and didnt fight anything. What could be the penalties? I looked it up but I couldnt find anything stating the consequences for a person charged with a DUI who is under the age of 18. Also, this is my first time ever dealing with police, so I have no previous record.
I don't practice in Washington, but more than likely you will get a summons to appear in juvenile court. In theory they...
long story short, I ran into him on the way out of nightclub. and he asked me to give him and his friends a ride home.(we live close) so, I said I don't drive but if you can drive, we all go with my car. (I didn't know how much he drank because I just ran into him)and he said yes. on the way home, we got pulled over by police and the guy was charged drinking drive, the 4 friends in the backseat got seat belt tickets and I got no ticket at all. but my car got impounded for 30 days. while the police officer was issuing us tickets, he told me to sue the driver if he doesn't pay me for the towing and the storage for 30 days. in this case, Can i sue him? If can, where and how?
The amount of money involved likely is under $5000. So, you can sue in small claims court. However, just going by...
Am already in treatment four years now, am potentially terminally ill, and high medical cost every month. Could they defer my jail time?
With the Deferred Prosecution 20 years ago it would appear that you do not have any "priors" which would enhance...
Pleaded guilty to a dui, no contest, July 2012. Served 2 days in jail. Have paid all fines and assessments. Had a ignition interlock but is removed now. Probation for 2 years. It will be two years in July since my dui arrest. Can I pardon to have my case reopen to request a lesser charge??? Or is it to late? Thanks. Received dui in Longview, wa
Sorry you can't "petition" to have your case reopened and get it reduced. That ship has sailed. Don't drink anything...
So my bf got his license suspended in OREGON and he has a license in WA. They both were suspended and now his WA one is active again, can he legally drive in WA and just not OR? Or can he not drive at all yet? Also, could he get his work license back then? He lives in WA and not OR but got the DUI in oregon.
The terms of the license suspension are sometimes different between Washington and Oregon. All suspensions in Oregon...
