Friend was arrested for a DUI in Richmond County GA 4 or so years ago and was sentenced to 2 years probation. He completed over a year of his probation and then paid off the remainder of his probation in full right before moving to FL. He never informed his PO of the move and a warrant was issued for his arrested. He was recently picked up on another VOP for another crime in GA and after serving the time for that VOP he was just transferred to the Richmond County jail and now has an order to show cause/state ct. What does this mean and what is he facing for the old DUI?

At the beginning of this year I got arrested for a DUI and speeding, I blew a .083. Just the other day I got caught at a traffic stop and they gave me a ticket for driving with a suspended license (I was not arrested). First question, is there any way I can pay this ticket before the court date and be done with it? Also, I've been to my DUI arraignment and plead not guilty. We are working on getting it dropped to reckless. Since my sentencing is still pending, will this ticket directly affect that case or the courts decision in that case? I'm not sure what's going to happen, but I really don't want to go to jail because I'm a full time student.
Do not plead guilty. If you do, you will face further license suspension. This may have an adverse affect on your DUI...
Friend was arrested for a DUI 5 years ago in Georgia and was discharged from the army for the offense. He was sentenced to 15 days jail, released in 6 days, and given 2 years probation. After completing a year of probation he paid off the remainder of his probation and moved to FL without informing his PO. For some reason he thought by paying off his probation they would eventually forget about him and drop the case. He was arrested on another VOP for another crime in GA and after serving the time for that VOP he will be transferred to the other GA jail for the VOP on the DUI. What is he facing for the VOP on the DUI? Also, I am not sure if it is important to note, the jail he will be transferred to for the VOP on the DUI is currently being sued for overcharging people for probation fees.
He is potentially facing a revocation of his probation for the remainder of the probation left from when he absconded to FL.
My fiancee was just sentenced to two years DOC and two years probation in FL. His plea agreement states that his probation is to be immediately transferred to GA upon release from DOC. I know FL cannot make GA accept his transfer, the same as GA could not make FL accept MY probation transfer to FL. He has never resided in GA before, but we have decided that it was best if I moved out of the state of FL while he is away and he no longer wants to live there either. He spoke with a woman from the probation office today after sentencing and she said the only way he could be transferred is if we got married. Is this true and is there anything I can do or someone I can talk to while he's in prison to prepare for this transfer so that everything goes smoothly?

In August 2009, I was told by probation to turn myself in the next day after testing positive on drug screen for thc. Typically you can ask to have results sent to a lab for verification, but per my judges terms, i had to wait in jail for results. I left probation office that day and never returned. I am applying for a new job that may require security clearance. The third party company my potential employer is using for background checks is Acxiom. I am wondering if other than the convictions for my offenses, will the bench warrant show in my public records. Axciom sends a runner to court to physically get the records. The county website doesnt provide explicit info that I do have a bench warrant but a local attorney verified i do. just need to know likelihood of it showing up. he says no
If Axiom sends someone to the county court, they will likely discover the unrecalled warrant.

No.... DUI is specifically excluded from 1st offender treatment
One night i had been drinking and when the police pulled me over i drove from the scene getting a misdemeanor fleeing and alluding, dui, hit and run of a fixed object, speeding, and i believe failure to show insurance. My license was suspended for 3 years. About two years later i was stopped and charged with driving on suspended license and was put on habitual violator and got a 5 year suspension, which is up, i just havn't had the money to pay the fines.
If you believed the HV was improper, you should have challenged that at the time that you were sentenced for such, but...
