Was pulled over, given a sobriety test, and then arrested and placed in cuffs without being read my rights. Three officers were present, searched my car (found nothing) and neither of them read my rights to me.
Miranda Rights are only required before an officer engages in custodial interrogation, i.e., the perp is detained (...
6 years ago I was a teenage widow. My husband committed suicide and I irresponsibly turned to alcohol. I have two OVIs and an arrest record that includes possession of marijuana, & fleeing from an accident. I was 19 at the time of this OVI, and was only convicted of an OVI. However, my arrest record still shows up on an FBI check. When I was just 21, I got another OVI, for which I refused a test; in retrospect, I might have been under the legal limit, as I had only one drink, but I was terrified. Now I can get nothing expunged. I am halfway through my Psych degree and want to go to school for Public Health Social Work, advocating for the prevention of suicide. Completely rehabilitated. What to do? Also do you think I would have a better chance of getting hired in I/O Psych.
This is a question that would be better asked of Psychologists. I know of nothing from these two convictions that would...
It will be my first offence, with the only other charge on record being a speeding ticket. However I am nineteen so therefore it was underage drinking. I was charged with OMVI and Lane Use.

no other priors and i wasn't charged with under age consumption just the speeding ticket and a OVI
You should get an attorney! Most OVI/DUI cases I hear about end up the same (3 days in jail or 3 days at ovi "camp", 6...
I received a DUI in PA several weeks ago. It is my first one and my attorney indicated I should have no problem being accepted in the the ARD program. Hence, once I complete community service, pay a fine, etc..the charge will be dismissed and removed from my record. (it will still be locateable in the event I ever get a second DUI, but wont show up on a normal background check). My question is that if the state of PA DMV reports a "DUI - ARD disposition" to the Virginia DMV, will VA take my license for year? Per the Driver License Compact Agreement, only convictions will be reported to the home state...
There are two things at play here. 1) Virginia may have additional laws, beyond the Driver's License Compact, that...
I got my dui last night at 6 am because my car was parked on the side of a suburban road, asleep, with light vomit on my clothes. I don't remember stepping into the car and I don't remember taking a blood test but I scored a really high blood alcohol content level, that I was to the emergency room. Should I plead no contest or get a lawyer?
You should hire an attorney or apply for the public defender. Even as a juvenile an OVI can carry serious consequences....
