I got a DUI 11 years ago and am required to get alcohol assessment/treatment, be compliant, and pay fees and fines, as well as retake driving test. I was wondering if I could get an ignition interlock instead of the treatment.? If so, how do I go about doing so? I heard that low income people can get help paying for the installation and service of the the device. Is this true? What is the usual amount of the device?
The alcohol assessment and treatment isn't going away. You will have to do it. The issue of gettting an Ignition...
My DUI happened over 11 years ago. In order to get my license reinstated in Washington state I must get assessment for treatment, show I'm compliant, and pay my fines as well as retake driving test. Will the requirement to do treatment ever be diminished. For example, my brother had to get an ignition interlock for 2 years because he had 2 DUI's. Not until nearly a year after his judgement did he get the interlock on his ignition which only left him with 1 year. I have not got in any trouble since then and really don't want to be in a program for an entire 9-12 months for something that happened so long ago. Can a Judge overturn or change the verdict? Do I have any options other than treatment? Any suggestions?
Looks like this was posted a couple of times last night. Good Luck

The alcohol treatment requirement will not go away. Just go get it done and then you can talk with DOL about your...
I'm a minor who may get charged with minor operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence or something along those lines. I have a completely clean record. The plea deal asks for 2 years of probation though we're trying to get it lowered. There's only one night of jail time to be served with the plea deal.
When you say "we" are trying to get it lowered do you mean that you have an attorney working on your case currently?
i received a MINOR DUI about 7 years ago(blew 0.02), then 2 years ago received 2 more, one in Jan(blew 0.18) then one in Oct(blew 0.08) I pleaded guilty the the one in Oct and went deffered for Januarys. i checked to find out when i could get my interlock off and the DOL changed my date from being done with everything in 2014, to stating i must keep my interlock, SR-22 insurance and probationary license til 2016. they also suspended my license for 7 months saying i needed an interlock when i gave proof multiple times iv never missed an appointment. I desperately need some type of advice or direction to go with them because they are not helping in anyway. iv had nothing but problems back to back with them for 2 years now.
Your suspensions run one after another and they add up. Your Minor Op., if suspended by DOL (there is no convicton...
I just got a seat belt ticket and only have 5 days left till my stipulated continuance is over
It depends on the exact terms of the SOC, but usually no. A traffic infraction like a seat belt ticket will not...
I didn't get charged for the second DUI by the courts, but the paper that the Officer submitted to the DOL headquarters is what they are using and took my license. DOL said it's my word against his and my only option is to pay $375.00 for a hearing. If I lose I'm out that money and then it will be a civil matter against DOL. What do I do? I don't have money for a lawyer and can't get one appointed by the courts since it's not a court matter.
Your questions are exactly why you need an attorney. DUIs are incredibly complex, confusing, expensive and unpleasant....
