With a little more than two months since Aplington-Parkersburg football coach Ed Thomas was fatally shot in the school's weight room, school safety is in the spotlight of national attention.

Wright County Transit Director Colleen Bartlett, along with Economic Development Director Dennis Bowman, presented the Board of Supervisors with an update on the transit system along with their hopes for a possible expansion of the services available.

After nearly a year of planning and training, law enforcement agencies in Wright County will respond to an "incident" at the Clarion-Goldfield Elementary School on Thursday, August 27 at about 2:30 p.m. While the incident won't be real, personnel will be responding as they would in a real life situation.

Glennys Fleming Johnson, 86, of Clarion passed away Friday, August 14, 2009 at Careage of Clarion.

Clarion businesses took advantage of the annual summer Ridiculous Days last week to say thanks to shoppers for their support throughout the year.
