Voters return to polls next week

Voters will return to the polls September 16, to vote for the State Senate District 32 seat. The runoff pits Williamsburg County Councilmember Sam Floyd against House of Representative Ronnie Sabb who were in a four-way democratic primary that was called shortly after former Sen. John Yancey McGill vacated the seat to assume the role of lieutenant governor.

District 32 heads to Sept. 16 runoff vote

I'm writing this column on a Thursday before the Labor Day weekend. By the time the paper comes out, opening day for Dove season will be over, opening day for deer season will be over, the holiday will be over, the election will be over and we'll either have a new senator or a runoff election will bring us back to the polls in 15 days.
