A man is in custody and is to be charged with attempted murder in connection with an attack on a Joliet police officer who was responding a call Saturday night, officials said.

I find it reprehensible that individuals get away with harming officers of the law. The penalty for attacking a police officer should be much stiffer.

It is considered a felony....even if you spit on a police officer you can be charged with a felony.

yeah i think the laws are a bit tight on this. not that i care if some gangster wanna be sits in jail. but if you think about it there are probably better ways to spend the cash than feed his illiterate ass while his girlfriend and 5 kids stay on welfare cause he can't work..

oh and btw i'm looking for some way to get in to a dentist (uninsured) because my face is unfortunately swollen and sore by my molar. but this guy gets free full coverage so long as he's in custody. technically i could break a law, get thrown in there, refuse to post bail until i got my tooth fixed, and still save money over the dentist lol. who here still thinks our system doesn't need the fixing it will hopefully get?
