Council will be dishing out .50 cents per capita in the 2012 budget to join the Canadian Badlands Association after a presentation was made in December 2011.

On Nov. 9, 2011, a Wheatland County resident reported to Gleichen RCMP that they found a gravestone on their property.

Agriculture Minister Evan Berger, Dave Rodney, MLA Calgary-Lougheed and Parliamentary Assistant for Sustainable Resources Development, along with MLA Arno Doerksen, Parliamentary Assistant for Human Services toured through Strathmore on Monday afternoon, but it wasn't all smiles and handshakes.

The Gleichen and District Library Society is once again in trouble but thanks to $5,000 from Wheatland County will be able to keep their doors open until a permanent funding solution is found.

As part of their Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties membership Wheatland County recently spearheaded the Finding Local Solutions position paper.

The county got all of their paving done on schedule, the Rockyford Road was completed, and is only slightly behind on their road construction despite having to deal with spring flooding.
