I don't think we had many bikers this year. It seemed low.

I wish they would finish fixing "J". That might have brought more business to the area.

I agree... J is awesome. It's like driving through a bowl of fruity pebbles at peak color.

Could be that people are realizing what a horrible place St Germain is. Get ripped off enough and you find somewhere else to go

Or maybe it's people like you who just make it miserable. People get ripped off everywhere.

Great analogy that was very cute. I enjoyed your comment "fruity pebbles". The trees are beautiful this time of year.

I'm sorry that you are going through such an ordeal with less than credible contractors. I wish they cared enough about their reputation to fix the problems. I do enjoy St. Germain in the Fall.

KnowHer- thanks for appreciating my analogy. Seems to me this message board needs more positivity... And all in all, I think some people are just impossible to please.

NOI - NOI - Dan has had a terrible ordeal that NO person should experience. Spending life savings on a dream home that is not suitable to live in is not acceptable. Dealing with contractors that could careless about customer satisfaction let alone the quality of work that they do valuable information for the public. I admire Dan's tenacity to report the truth and his perseverance despite the outcome. Courage takes time but in the long run it will pay off.

I agree that the situation sucks.. and I agree that it's good to report bad things. And hopefully the outcome is one that makes everyone happy. It's just, knowing a tad bit about it, it's not every single subs' fault, that's all. If I were him I would be pissed too - but I would be pissed only at the right ones...

I appreciate the support. As far as these sub contractors, it is there fault for not doing the work correctly, and Cornerstones fault for not making them do everything correctly. Everyone of the sub's mentioned in the other topic has lied in order to protect themselves and CornerShit. Here's an example. When asked why we were charged additional money when the electrician had to come back and repair damages, and correct his mistakes, Gary Dalbecks response was we need to make money. What about our money? Don't we have a right to getting what we paid for? I understand that these are tough times, but to defend these dishonest contractors is appalling. I have invited No One Impotent to come and look at the facts and he or she has refused and would rather just remain ignorant and ignore the facts.

Again, I'm not ignorant... but what I've been trying to relay on the other thread is here! You said you wanted the electrician to correct mistakes - and I would say that the response you got was nothing but honest as far as needing to make money. Well I'm sorry but it seems honest anyway.
You absolutely have the right to get what you're paying for... but that's what I've been trying to get you to understand, is that there are multiple sides to all of it. And perhaps his comment about making money wasn't entirely directed at you? I don't know.
I'm sympathetic to you, but also to the underdogs of the scenario.

In my humble opinion, this world & this era needs more people with morals to step up to the plate when wrongdoing is present. We cannot depend on government, local politicians or unscrupulous business owners to represent our bests interest. Yes, we have a bad economy, yes its tough to do what's right 100% of the time. Just think if you don't do what's right... who will? The next person that maybe taken advantage of by unscrupulous behavior maybe yourself & then you will be the one saying "I wish someone would have spoken up about the wrongdoing that exists by GC's." You can be guilty by association.

Why does it take a Court of law for us to "swear by God" that we will tell the truth? Very scary.

I remember back in the day when your "word" meant everything. Sad, this is no longer the case.

What I meant by "ignorant" was that you do not know all the facts but yet you feel the need to defend these people. If you knew ALL that facts, you would hopefully agree with me.

So when the electricians response to charging us to come back and correct his mistakes is acceptable to you?? He charges us twice for the same work and you don't see a problem with that?

There are no underdogs here and, again, unless you are one of these sub's, if you knew all the facts, you would take back that comment. As bad as the builder is, I really don't believe they told these subs to violate building codes, cheat us on materials, lie, break things, leave a mess for me to clean up, etc. If the builder did tell them to do these things, then you really have to question there ethics and morals. If they need money that bad, then go rob a gas staition or a bank, don't steal some poor senior citizens life savings.

Exactly! I've had a guy working on the heating system for over 5 days now. Why? Because nothing was done right. He is redoing around %90 of it, and it would be 100% buy some of it can not be corrected, only improved the best we can. This man is honest, with morals and ethics and is so upset by what he's found. He also stated that if it came down to doing lousy work like these subs did in order to pay his bills, he'd rather go work at McDonalds.

I'm not defending anyone. Not saying it's OK to charge twice. Not saying being cheated is OK. Not saying I know everything.

Just saying, there are always two sides to a story, and it's quite possible the subs aren't as responsible as you say.

Never said you were in the wrong, never said that I didn't agree with you.

Geez.

Ok, now that you've cleared that up, I'll wrap this up by saying that until you are willing to really look at the facts, you will have to take my word for it that everything I've stated is true, and my only goal for posting on here is the hope that maybe I can save at least one person from going through the nightmare that my mom has.

..and I want to thank you for your posted information (seriously) because my parents are in the process of looking for a builder to build their dream home near Eagle River and I can now advise my parents on which contractor to stay away from.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Sagittarius

Watch out. Your mind is working overtime in full analytical mode, but you may be leaping to unfounded conclusions and reading too much into situations. The result of all this is that you might start to suspect someone's honesty or loyalty, and wonder what exactly they're up to. Don't accuse them of anything awful just yet because it may turn out that you were totally wrong about them.
