VGCC seeks entries for art show; announces cash prizes

Artists are invited to submit their works for the 46th annual Kerr Lake Art Show, which will be open to the public June 11-15. The event, co-sponsored by Vance-Granville Community College and the Kerr Lake Art Society, will be held on the second floor of Building 7 on VGCC's Main Campus in Vance County.

A dog was abandoned in such poor condition at the Vance County Animal Shelter last Tuesday, that the Humane Society of the United States is now offering a $2500 reward for any information that leads to the conviction of the person responsible for her condition.

HVCCC Membership Drive coming Thursday

The Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce will conduct a membership drive Thursday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. WIZS 1450 will be doing a live remote from 8-9 a.m. and 11 a.m.-noon . The chamber is inviting new members to come by, bring a check and give an "elevator speech" on the radio.
