County Mayor Larry Potter gave an update on Doe Mountain at the May County Commission meeting.

The body of Lonnie Townsend, who was reported missing last month, was found in Unicoi County Friday and lead to the arrest of a Johnson City pair.

Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes told the Johnson City Press that 43-year-old Timothy Pate is charged with murder in the case and 21-year-old and Whitney Harris is charged with being an accessory.
