Deputies resolve hostage situation in Milton-Freewater

At 3:09 a.m. on April 8, 2014, Umatilla County Sheriff's Office received a report of a male, Thomas Rogers 25, of 53664 W. Ferndale Road, who was holding two female hostages at the residence.

A two-hour search on ground and by air this afternoon in the Pendleton area off Interstate 84 helped find an 80-year old man who walked away from the vehicle he was traveling in with his wife, following a verbal dispute.

Two men are sentenced for multiple property crimes in the Hermiston area. 24-year-old Jeremiah Ayers was sentenced to 9 years and 2 months in prison after pleading guilty to committing numerous crimes between September and December 2013.
