Authorities in Tuscola County are warning the public of a scam that duped a local couple out of more than $60,000. A man who identified himself as Robert Alvarez, an attorney with the Internal Revenue Service, contacted a Mayville couple in their late 70s in July of 2011, the Tuscola County Sheriff's Office said.
