Tons of trash plucked from rivers across the region every year

Volunteers will pluck plastic cups, grocery bags and other refuse from the region's streams and rivers over the next few months as part of local and nationwide waterway cleanup efforts designed to limit the damage the items, if left untouched, can cause downstream.

Asteelflash to cut 34 employees in June

Asteelflash, an international electronic manufacturing services company, will lay off 34 employees at its plant off Route 38 by the end of June, which is expected to shutter the 150,000-square-foot facility that sits on a 20-acre plot of land.
