Bids to repair 40th Street and W.B. Parks Road were considered by the Tift County Commission Tuesday night.
The Tift County appraisal staff will be reviewing property in the following locations through Friday of this week: Within the city limits of Tifton; southeast Tift County; east of Central Avenue/Union Road; south of Fourth Street/Ferry Lake Road.

School board approves purchase of new buses
The Tift County Board of Education approved Tuesday the purchase of 11 buses at a cost of $801,410. The new buys will replace older buses, some of which are 15 years old.
Flood Risk Information Open House will be held Wednesday

The Tift County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of a backup system for E-911 and heard a report from its Emergency Management Agency director that the county is completing applications to hopefully receive acquisition funding for 12 lots in McInnis Mills that were damaged during flooding earlier this year.

County to purchase backup radio system for public safety
The Tift County Board of Commissioners discussed during workshop session Tuesday night the purchase of a backup radio system for public safety and is expected to approve the purchase in regular session Monday night.
Two men died Saturday in a one-car wreck in Tift County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
