Norfolk, Neb. man dies in grain pit

Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says 67-year-old Donald Stodola was found dead Friday inside the grain pit at the Stanton Co-Op. Unger says authorities believe a toxic gas accumulated inside the enclosed pit, killing Stodola and sickening another employee, 58-year-old Gary Carson.

The new cases all involve children 5 to 18. Four are from Madison County, in northeast Nebraska, and two are from Sarpy County, in eastern Nebraska.
