that is because you supposedly left before you were subjected to the likes of Jerry and Nicole, "Left" Nicole is a lovely DA who pursued this innocent man with a vengence while letting a man that assaulted Potsdam police officers go free (he was busy partying it up in Vermont while that crackho-looking bitch let the time run out on his indictment...errr whatever, however it works. It isnt my job to know; however it was her job to pay attention. It was also her job to make sure that a few ppl from the city didnt get away with robbing a couple of kids of one of the best dads in the world, with the best sense of humor I have ever f*cking seen-but instead she took pride in slumming too-and taking yet another innocent father away. Hopefully only temporarily.......By the way...I hope you all keep this in mind when election comes up

My bff was Bernie's bff. She still picks up the phone to call Him and realizes He is not there and it breaks her heart every day.

So, who did it?

Oxley, Shannon, or The Boyz From The Hood?

I don't think that Shannon had the ambition to walk down the street to get a 50 by himself much less say carry this out, he gave/gives new definition to the term 'oxy-thief'. I also doubt that anyone still picks up the phone to call someone to THIS day. That is a lil overdramatic given that I have been thru similar tragedy myself. Regardless, my heart does go out to her and everyone involved. I thought more of Bernie than I did any of the "key players" on either side and so did most of his family. Even his wife's nephews was closer to him than they ever will be to her. He was a great man and anyone close to this case will agree on one thing. Whoever did it can't be punished enough. But even Bernie himself would want the right persons to pay for the crime

I think everyone is asking the same question. The court system up here seems to think they can do as they want, rather then follow procedure, and, unfortunately they have up till now. Have you noticed how many have resigned recently from the DA's office. Like the rats leaving a sinking ship. I hope and pray when election time comes this fall, the people of St. Lawrence County remember all that has happened over the last few years. It really pisses me off to know that after busting my ass working that my tax dollars are being used to pay the wages of the clowns over in Canton. true justice will only be achieved when the voters of this county stand up this fall and boot there asses out of there. One year ago this month, I sat in county court and heard the words of Judge Richards when he told Steve Rivers that if he violated the terms of his probation or any part of the his plea bargain that he WOULD sentence him to a MINIMUM of FOUR YEARS in a State Correctional Facility. Ten months later Steve Rivers violated 2 Orders of Protection against 2 of the victims, again injurying the same teenage girl that got shot because of his ignorance and stupidity. Is is in jail?? hell no! another bunch of lies from our illustrious Cunty court. Allowing this man to remain free is proof of the inept legal system we have in this county!!!

The guilty do 32 days out of a 120 day sentence,(to my disgust, when you do weekends the 2 days you do count for the whole 7 days of that week) and the innocent get 25 to life. Welcome to St Lawrence County!!

St.Lawrence Co. has long been a very poor one. When lawyers can't make it in Pvt. practice they suck off the taxpayers! Namely Co., City and town Govs. They need the health Ins. and retirement benes. Creme rises to the top and losers to the bottom! We have and will continue to have a bunch of leaches running and working in our Court systems!Look at Ogd.We have the City judge and then we have his Son, Andrew, setting himself up in all the Co. legal positions and I would suppose a future run for Supreme Court,DA, City court Judge or whatever with Dadies help. So what's new???

Look at all the sick bastards molesting children and just getting probation. Put me in a black honor suit, screw probation, justice is spelled CASTRATION!!!! We have to protect our children and our system isn't doing it. I guess we have to resort to vigilante justice.

I had to go to family court and got a court appointed attorney,(Heather Dona). She had to be told THREE different times IN A ROW how to properly approach the bench with evidence. This is the kind of people who made it through online law school and can't even tie their own shoes.

The person that should be thanked is the attorney for the defense. Manning believed in his client, fought tireless for him to see that he received a fair and impatial trial, followed the legal protocol to get this case heard before the appeals court. This is also important, as cases like this are not often retried. The first judge acted inappropriately throughout the trial. The ruling was of no surprise. But the place to respond to the ruling was in the Appeal. This Appeal was a very important win for the defendant and his attorney..NY can be as corrupt as Old Chicago Politics. The DA is a politician. Why was the judge seen meeting in chambers during the trial with just the lady DA? People surrounding the trial talked, but feared to talk. It's all about the win, the politics and power; and our hopes should be that none of the readers here will ever come up against those in power that have their own best political interests at heart. You should be very worried. Kudos to the defendent's attorney (who was appointed as the defendent could not pay) for providing his client with months upon months/years? of diligent, excellent & competent "service".
