A phone scam hitting people in Spink County seems to be tapering off, but law enforcement is urging people to be on guard.

Authorities say a new phone scam is using the Spink County Sheriff Office's phone number in an effort to capture credit card numbers.

The Spink County Sheriffs office received several complaints last night about scammers that are making calls to people in the county about unpaid parking tickets.

The Spink County Sheriff's Department in Redfield, South Dakota called KSFY to tell us about a scam they want to pass along to you.
