Director of the EMA, Ed Myrick, reports a handful of dead fish were found towards the north end of Effingham County.

Just days after the one-year anniversary of a large fish kill in Screven County, more dead fish have been pulled from the Ogeechee River.

Last year at this time, dead fish were turning up in the Ogeechee River. First, fish were found in Bulloch County, but then dead fish began surfacing downstream in Bryan and Chatham Counties.

Georgia regulators will hold a June 12 public hearing to discuss a proposed new environmental permit for King America Finishing, a Screven County textile plant associated with a May 2011 fish kill along 70 miles of the Ogeechee River, reports The Augusta Chronicle.
