By BETTY WATERS Staff Writer HENDERSON -- After U.S. Highway 64 narrows from four to two lanes in this town, motorists encounter a traffic light and -- a short distance farther -- a railroad crossing and then another traffic light as three side streets intersect with that stretch of the major highway before it widens back out.

By BETTY WATERS Staff Writer HENDERSON -- A Rusk County Grand Jury indicted a defendant in three bombing threats at Henderson High School and also handed up 47 other indictments this week, including some for gambling.

Rusk County commissioners on Thursday declined switching ambulance services from Champion EMS to East Texas Medical Center EMS.

By KENNETH DEAN Staff Writer HENDERSON - A woman who police say used her vehicle as a weapon to run another vehicle off the road last year has been sentenced after entering a guilty plea.

Forty-eight staff members within the 14 Workforce Solutions East Texas centers have been notified their last day of work will be Friday.

A Henderson woman is dead following a one vehicle wreck in Rusk County. DPS says while the wreck took place around 10:30 Wednesday night, it wasn't discovered until early Thursday morning by a passing motorist.

Sitting in the Rusk County Courthouse, a three-judge panel from the Sixth Court of Appeals in Texarkana heard arguments Wednesday in Darnell Hartsfield's appeal of his capital murder conviction in the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant killings.
