Legion announces speech contest
High school students in Randolph and Tucker counties are being invited to participate in the American Legion, 9th District, annual constitutional speech contest in Elkins on Jan. 25. Students in grades 9 through 12, or the equivalent, from public, private and religious schools, plus home-schooled, are eligible.
Man charged with child abuse
Christopher Rosier, 26, was charged with child abuse resulting in injury. Rosier was arraigned by Randolph County Magistrate Robert Elbon and is being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
