They can be fined $100 000 per violation for violating patient confidentiality under hippa laws.You cant even get a spouses medical records unless they specifically authorize it.

My kids are getting the H1N1 vaccination. I talked to a nurse and she said it is from the same strain as the regular flu shot. My son is diabetic and it could get ugly if he doesn't get it!

are they giving the shots this week or when?

The nurse lied to you or is uninformed. How can it be from the same strain when the swine flu is composed of swine flu/regular flu and bird flu strains? It is a created virus. Dont ake my word for it....look it up

I really love it when you paranoid conspiracy theorist arise. You should pay attention. This strain of the virus was cultured in a lab unlike the strain in 1976. That is what makes it dangerous not the vaccine. And that is why you need the vaccine. In 1976 it was the white man trying to kill the black man with the swine flu vaccine. I have had both vaccines (we had a push program here in FL) the only side effects I seem to have is that it is real hard to eat pork now and I sometimes squeal for no apparent reason. I am sure in your case it would be much worse so save it for one of the kids, medical workers or one of the senior citizens with special needs who actually need it. You are probably in a class that can't even get the vaccine.

Its a shame that they wasn't smart enought to be like Fayette Co. and just go to the school and give them to kids. I heard that the line at the Health Dept. was line alway across the RGH lot to Kroggers. Later they had to turn people away due to they were already running out.

The health department today was a zoo. Indications are this clinic was poorly planned. Publicize it to all county schools and through the media and invite everyone out to an inadequate facility. Let people stand in the cold outside for an hour before they get to come in and wait another 45 minutes. I wonder how we would ever handle a public health crisis in this county? It doesn't inspire much confidence.

There were better options like offering the clinic at the Convention Center. In other states they are rotating clinics through local schools.

We went and didn't get there til 9:45 and we were in our car leaving at 10:46 exactly. It wasn't that bad, there was a big line but that was to be expected.

They are sending vaccines to the schools. I guess parents wanted to make sure their kids got it to make themselves feel at ease, so that's why they went there on Saturday. I feel better now that my kids got it. Some parents don't want to give their kids the swine flu vaccination, but from Drs, nurses, and other medical personnel, they encourage it.
