Village of Brewster Receives $7,500 Greenway Grant for Comprehensive Plan Update

The Hudson River Valley Greenway is pleased to announce that the Village of Brewster was awarded a $7,500 matching Greenway Communities Grant for a comprehensive plan update. The Greenway Board awarded a total of $80,000 for projects throughout the Hudson River Valley at a recent meeting held in Staatsburg, N.Y. The Village of Brewster plans to update their comprehensive plan and prepare an Urban Renewal Plan by partnering with Putnam County Planning, Covington Properties and Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress.

Police Searching For Teen Missing From Putnam County

PATTERSON, N.Y. Authorities are searching for an Albany-area teen in need of medical attention who was last seen leaving the Green Chimneys campus in Patterson on Sunday at about 6 p.m., LoHud.com reports. Nick Alber, 17, stands 6-foot-3 and weighs about 170 pounds.

Chickens Apparently Mutilated, Dumped In Mahopac Parking Lot

Two chickens were apparently mutilated and subsequently dumped in a parking lot for a Mahopac gas station, according to the Putnam County SPCA. The organization's Humane Law Enforcement Department went to the scene, which is near a Mobil station at 102 Route 6, on Sunday in response to a call.
