Master Gardeners announce plant sale
<![CDATA[University of Wisconsin-Extension Portage County Master Gardener Volunteers will hold its annual plant sale from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. May 18 at the Rettler Corp. grounds in the Portage County Business Park, across from Crossroads Commons off Highway HH. Master Gardener Volunteers, trained volunteers who assist UW-Extension staff with horticulture education and community beautification, dig and divide their perennials for the sale. The selection is enhanced with flats of popular perennials and specialty items from a wholesale nursery. Herbs, some shrubs and vegetables seedlings also will be available. Plants typically sell for $2 to $5. Proceeds support UW-Extension horticulture education programs, horticulture resource books for local libraries, scholarships and area school projects.
