The modern strides in multimedia have been explosive. News does not only come from newspapers anymore; now, news can come from places like Facebook, Twitter, blogs, online publications of newspapers and magazines and a multitude of TV channels and shows.
Hunter education course offered
The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources will host a Hunter Education Class in Pocahontas County at the Marlinton Public Library from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 5 and from 1-5 p.m. April 6. Students must attend all hours both days of the 10-hour course and pass a written and hands-on test to be certified.

Thanks to lots of snow, Snowshoe extending season
Ski season is extended at the state's largest ski resort. Officials at Snowshoe Mountain in Pocahontas County say the most recent blast of winter has put them in a position to extend the season until the first weekend in April.
A massive winter storm exceeded initial reports by dumping more than a foot of snow across much of the region by Thursday afternoon.
