N.C. passes Marriage Amendment
BY DAWN BAUMGARTNER VAUGHAN dvaughan@heraldsun.com; 919-419-6563 DURHAM - A majority of North Carolinians voted Tuesday in favor of a Constitutional amendment that recognizes the marriage of a man and woman as the only valid domestic union in North Carolina, with a 61 percent to 38 percent victory with 85 of the state's 100 counties reporting.
