An SUV crash on I-55 near Hayti, Missouri killed three childrenA and sent seven others to the hospital.

According to Karol Wilcox, president of the Caruthersville Humane Society , several cases of both parvo and distemper have been identified in Pemiscot County.

According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, deputies and the Missouri Children's Division began investigating Angela Marie Smith, 27, in March after receiving reports she had physically abused a one-year-old child.

Early in April, Marlene McNatt, board member, foster, and volunteer for the Caruthersville Humane Society , was contacted by the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department concerning a yellow lab living in a hollow tree near the McCarty R-3 school.
