I agree completely! Both are old enough to know better than to do what they did. Both were more concerned with what was going to happen to the driver because he was driving when he shouldn't have been. Neither mother or son seemed to care about that poor,little boy who was run down while on his way to school! The young boy sustained very serious head injuries! The actions of these two shows everyone what kind of people they are!!

My heart still can't understand their concern for the driver's well-being over the emergency needs of this little boy!!

I totaly agree with "Concerned Parent" from Charleston. Both mother & son should be held accountable in every way possible!!

This young boy & his family are in my prayers & have my heart-felt sympathies. Lord, be with them & restore this boy's health!

So many times the media tells all about the criminal act and not the victims of the situation. We hear all about them what about the child now? Lets all focus on that one and stop discussing "those" people knowing dang well what they really are.

I have known Shirley Gilles for a long time and I thought she was a decent woman. Just goes to show you how little you really know about each other. And with her being a parent as well, he could have killed that child. They both should get the maximum our state allows.

I totally agree with both mother/son getting the time they need. We need to keep Derik in our prayers *the little one that was hit* & we also need to pray for Mrs. Gilles & her son that they realize the wrong they did. God Bless you all.

I am appauled at the mothers actions let alone her son that hit the little boy. My goodness is she attempting to teach her son how to avoid punishment? Her son did wrong and she did not help matters by attempting to take the blame. THey both need to get the maximum punishment allowed.
