Smoking Ban Vote Delayed in Monongalia County

Every day thjat passes is another day that the Mon County health board is not doing it's job... it's shameful that there's any question of what's the 'right' thing to do here!

The right thing to do is to allow the PROPERTY OWNERS decide what legal activities they allow in their privately owned establishments.

Its not so simple. An air filtration solution would take all the junk out of bar air and not send smokers home to smoke.

Look to Ohio to see the damage done to property owners when smoking bans are comprehensive. Over 20,000 smoking ban violations have occurred in less than a year. Bars are going out of business. 11 counties have no money to enforce the law and have handed it back to the state. For every $100 fine appealed, there is a cost of $350 for the appeal. Bingo and private club donations to charity have plumetted, and neighbors turn in neighbors in a law based upon snitching. Give people over the age of 18 the opportunity to choose what kind of places they wish to frequent.

morgantown wv........Ive lived there and those folks want to smoke. Its a college town where so many students smoke its patehtic.......But those folks are redneck as hell and if you push the limits on their rights your probably gonna get hurt..........While the libs have taken control
up the I-79 corridor thru wv and established broad no smoking laws locally morgantown is a taste of freedom..........and besides that these people have lived thru PROHIBITION befor and find it very exhiliarting to break the law .........
