A young male wolf from Oregon that won fame trekking cross-country looking for a mate has had what appears to be his first close encounter with people, and got his picture taken, to boot.

The 40-year-old psychiatric patient who was reported as being on unauthorized leave Friday from the Oregon State Hospital was located Monday evening near Tulelake, Calif.

Fear of the big bad wolf has taken hold of a few politicians in Siskiyou County, who have introduced an ordinance to ban the predators.
