Granite City man faces homicide charges in heroin overdose

John P. Lance, 29, has been charged with multiple felonies in the death of Sara Brewer, 26, who overdosed in her Granite City home Jan. 2. A heroin task force was launched in Madison County after three people overdosed on heroin in one night, and several other heroin overdoses have taken place so far this year.
