Nine people were arrested Thursday morning in Fernley during police drug raids on three homes there.

The number of recorded suicides in Lyon County in 2009 has tripled compared to 2008, amounting to 27 so far this year, Sheriff Allen Veil said.

FERNLEY--The Fernley City Council will discuss the possibility of the city absorbing Fernley Swimming Pool District's tax, as well as the North Lyon County Fire Protection District's tax at Wednesday council meeting at 4 p.m. At the same meeting, the Council will also consider establishing a 318 General Improvement District for the golf course.
