420-Acre Big Horn Fire 60 Percent Contained

A 420-acre forest fire that has been burning near Mount Baldy since Tuesday was 60 percent contained Friday, officials said.

More than 750 firefighters from various agencies were assigned to the blaze in the Angeles National Forest, which started about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday near Mount Baldy.

The fire began in San Bernardino County, but quickly spread into Los Angeles County.

Six "recreation residences" remain evacuated in the Bear Canyon area, but no buildings have been lost and no injuries have been reported, officials said. Read more
